Trump’s Gaza Disarmament Plan Endorsed by Dutch Foreign Minister

by admin477351

The Dutch Foreign Minister, Tom Berendsen, has expressed support for a roadmap proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at the disarmament of Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza. Berendsen praised the plan as a promising development for achieving stability in the region.

This U.S.-endorsed strategy lays out a phased approach where Hamas would catalog and store heavy weaponry, military facilities, and weapons depots, as well as address the issue of tunnels. Concurrently, it outlines a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces as the disarmament progresses. Berendsen emphasized that this initiative could bolster Israel’s security, aid in rebuilding Gaza, and pave the way for enduring peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Hamas has acknowledged the existence of a plan that includes both disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal. Meanwhile, another militant faction in Gaza has dismissed any notion of relinquishing its weapons. As of now, Israel has not issued any public statement regarding this proposal.
