‘Overjoyed’ Fans Celebrate Chansiri Exit Despite -6 Point Reality

Sheffield Wednesday fans are “overjoyed to have Dejphon Chansiri out of our club for good,” despite the devastating consequences. The owner’s decision to place the club in administration has resulted in a 12-point penalty, dropping the Owls to -6 points.
The Supporters Trust, which has led protests, called the administration the “inevitable outcome” of Chansiri’s “financial mismanagement” and “lack of accountability.” Seats spelling his name were being removed from Hillsborough less than an hour after the announcement.
The club is now 15 points from safety, with relegation looking locked in. The financial crisis includes $pounds{}$1 million owed to HMRC and months of unpaid wages, which led to a player exodus over the summer.
Manager Henrik Pedersen called the “sad situation” a “good day” for the club’s future. He told staff a “fresh restart” was needed and, against all odds, vowed to “keep fighting” for survival.
Administrator Begbies Traynor is now running the club and will market it for sale along with the stadium. The Supporters Trust is calling on fans to end their boycotts and provide the “stability and income” the club needs.
