Andersson plans to return the task of government formation to the newly elected Speaker, who may then assign it to another party leader, such as Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson or Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar. The Left Party has clarified that its support for the Moderate candidate is based on the belief in the current Speaker’s experience being beneficial for the government-formation process. Despite this, the Left Party continues to endorse Andersson as their preferred candidate for prime minister, while expressing a desire to be included in any future government.
Andersson emphasized the link between the Speaker election and the government-formation process, noting that while she has not ruled out another attempt to become prime minister in the future, the necessary conditions are not present at this time.
